The Swift Surge Protection System is designed to safeguard boats on lift cradles during extreme tidal surges, such as those caused by hurricanes or storms. The system features energy-absorbing snubbers (highlighted in yellow) that are preloaded with tension. When a storm surge lifts the boat off the cradle, the snubbers stretch to absorb the kinetic energy and prevent sudden jolts or breakage. As the water recedes, the snubbers gradually retract, guiding the boat back into its original position on the lift cradle safely and smoothly. This controlled motion helps prevent damage to both the boat and the lift structure, ensuring a reliable return to normalcy after the surge passes.
